blue mountains NP and Katoomba
Blue Mountains, probably the highlights of our trip. The name of those mountains comes from the blue tinge the range takes on when seen from away. Katoomba, the main gateway to the national park, is ideally situated on the edge of high cliffs dropping into the Jamieson Valley. Different stairs and the steepest railway in the world (with a gradient of 52 degrees) can lead or bring you into the valley to do some bushwalking. You can also walk along the cliff edge with spectacular view over the area and pass in front of the famous Three Sisters. I wish I could have go on a ride in the steep train but the crowd and the price dissuaded me from going ahead. All those metered car park are also annoying but fortunately the park is more than worth it and spending only one day in it went so fast.
